I have my database shared on my company's intranet. I sometimes get the
message "Your database needs to be repaired or isn't a database file" when I
attempt to open it. The warning also says "You or another user may have
unexpectedly quit Microsoft Access while a Microsoft Access database was
open. Do you want Microsoft Access to attempt to repair the database"- with
a click yes or no button. What is this about? I pushed yes to repair and
everything seems OK. What is happening and is this a serious problem?

There is a good chance that someone is turning off their machine while
still connected to the database.

I suggest that if it is not already split, split the database so you
have a back end on the LAN and each user has their own front end. The
dynamic data stays with the back end and everything else is on the user's
machine. As it is, I hope you have a good back up plan in place as some day
it may not be able to be repaired.
