Get error msg "the instruction at "0x000" referenced memory @ "0x000". The
memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate program. The "hotfix"
available for this appears to have warning about it's use. Recently had to
rebuild computer (due to power surge failure). Also recently upgraded
memory. I have a Gateway GRxx - upgraded to memory to 2 mb.... I've
installed SP2 and SP3. Any ideas or advice?

Always test system memory, when you build a computer, or upgrade
the existing memory. Examples of two free test programs are below.

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

The error message you got, doesn't necessarily mean the RAM is bad,
but it does not hurt to test it anyway. There are other causes for
messages like that. Bad memory is not the sole source.
