My XP Pro machine has 3gb of ram and it shows up as 3gb in System, but
why does my memory program show 2047 free.

So according to this windows only recognizes 2047 or am I wrong?

What memory program is that? It certainly sounds like it is
misreporting several things.

Impossible. Those two statements together say that XP is loaded into
1GB. It sure sounds like it's a very poor memory program.

It is Free Ram XP-Pro which worked fine until I added the additional 2gb
of ram. System reports the correct amount so it has to be the program.
Can you suggest a program?

No such program is needed. They are all useless at best, and often
*cause* problems.
