Memory Error Message When IE closes

G

Guest

During the past week I've started getting an error message when I close IE.
It doesn't happen every time, and it doesn't seem to be only under certain
conditons. The error reads as follows: The instruction at "0x7c9105f8"
referenced memory at "0x01310010". The memory could not be "read". Click OK
to terminate.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how to fix it? Thanx.

This is often caused by an errant "Browser Helper Object" or Toolbar. Do
you have any addins loaded? If you have XP SP2, check the Manage Addons
dialog box.

Might also want to scan for spyware/adware. See www.microsoft.com/spyware
for free tools.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of the programs
below, download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.
