Memory could not be "read"?

Hey,
I'm not completely sure this is the right forum for this question, but since
it pertains to IE6, I'll ask and see...
I have Windows XP Pro Ed. with IE6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158,
cipher strength 128-bit. It's running on a DELL Inspiron 1150. Every so
often, I get a message box popping up. In the blue bar at the top, it says
iexplore.exe. The message reads, 'The instruction at "0x77279a63" referenced
memory at "0x7d4b8918." The memory could not be "read." Click on OK to
terminate the program.' I'm not even sure if there is a problem, but it
happens at least twice or three times a week. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Hi,
This is usually caused by another program- often malware.

Start at IE> Tools> manage add-ons. Disable add-ons to see if one of them is
causing the problem.

Next, download and run CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot.
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Also note the security tips and other important information on that page.

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Look at any program that might be interacting with IE. You
may have to reinstall, or not reinstall, a program.

Hope this helps,
Don
