Media Player includes unwanted pictures

I use Windows Media Player to listen to music.
However, it has included a lot of pictures (.jpg-files) that I have
other programs to view and that I do NOT want to show in WMP.
I keep the pictures in a directory that I have never mentioned to
WMP.

In fact, when I copied the pictures to a directory I had just created,
WMP immediately started to include the pictures into the All Pictures
Library so now WMP has a double set of pictures.

I keep the pictures in the directory
C:\Documents and Settings\PersonalAccount\PersonalPictures
(nothing to do with My Documents or My Pictures).

How do I tell WMP not to include any pictures? Or just to include
pictures from directories I specify in Add To Library?

My system is XP Pro SP3
WMP is version 11

Thanks for any answer

As others will say, this isn't a WMP group. Also a quick google wouln't have
killed you would it?

You don't say what version you are using, but try this.

Check under options and, select library tab, click on "Monitor Folders",
"advanced" button. Configure the library functions here.

Well, I tried the
microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer
group but it is very inactive and I did not get
any answer.

I made the following search on Google
windows media player libraries "unwanted pictures"
and got 116 answers, none to my problem.
I made other searches too but as usual with Google
most gave too many answers.

I thought it would be enought to give the version
as 11 but if you need more it is 11.0.5721.5145
But I suppose this is obsolescent now as I could
configure the libraries according to your
directions. So thank you.

The correct procedure is to open Media Player, Tools,Options
Library (TAB), Monitor Folders [Button] and remove the folder
that holds the content you do not wish to be cataloged.
