MDE file breakdown

Hi,

I have a split database which resides on a shared dept drive.
The back end is a mdb file. The front end is a mde file.
Yesterday, users started having various issues which were not consistent, on
their front-ends. One in particular bothers me. Date fields started to
appear with a Name? in each date field. I went and looked at other users
front-ends, including my own, and saw no such problem. They are allowed to
enter in real dates, but when they run reports, it also comes up that it does
not recognize the daets, but produces an accurate report.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Look at the users' country and date settings under Language and Regional
Settings in control panel; you may well find that the user with the
problem has changed the default settings.

I'd compact the BE and relink the FEs. It sounds like you might have an index
problem, but I've never experienced this kind of error.

Are the 'problem' users on wireless network connections? A momentary drop
in network connectivity is well known for causing this sort of failure and
may even corrupt the backend.
