I am managing a farm of serverside applications which run as services.
If I install more than 33 when I start I get the error:
could not start the servicenamehere on Local computer
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request
in a timely fashion.
If I shutdown any other service and try to start an additional instance
of my
service it works fine. If I reboot(my services are automatic), all of
my services
startup fine. But I can create no more services.
I have plenty of memory - 2GB RAM with 2GB swap. With 33 of my
services
I am running right around 2GB plus a significant number of desktop
apps.
Is there a limit on the number of services that windows can handle?
