Maximum Number of Connection

Chris

We are using WIN 2K server SP4 and critical updates and
our Terminal Server is in App Mode with 43 client
licenses. However, we have 45 clients accessing the TS (2
Win 2K Pro clients and the rest are MAC clients). There
are 2 users that experince maximum number of connections
was exceeded error. We will purchase more TS CAL licenses,
however can we remove client licenses that aren't be used?
Also, how can the 2 clients connect to the TS without
adding new licenses? NOTE: the 2 clients have a valid
license entry on the TS license server.

Thanks in advance.

This won't make any difference, unless someone has hard coded the maximum
number of connections on the RDP-Tcp connection to 45.

Most likely you're out of TSCALs, which can be viewed the Terminal Services
Licensing.

There are actually 44 clients connecting excluding the 2
Windows users and from what I read the extra client should
get a temporary license for 90 days. The one client that
cannot connect to the TS has a valid license, but for some
reason it will not connect. I restarted the server and
once the server was back up other users successfully
connected, but not the 1 client.

Error Message: "Either remote connections are not enabled,
the maximum number of connections was exceeded, or a
network error occurred. "

Thanks again.

Hope this helps:(1) I was having a problem connecting more than 9 W2000
workstations
to a W2000 Terminal Server;(2) Microsoft tech support($$$) suggested I
disable
the License Logging Service in the server, and(3) I can now connect 20+
W2000
workstations. The Microsoft tech also told me that MS was having problems
with TS.
