Map Outlook (2003) Contact address - link

After I installed MapPoint (2004) it included a mappoint pushpin button on
my Contacts form. When I click on this sometimes nothing happens but
occasionally it gives me a street map showing the address. Otherwise, I copy
the address, open Mappoint manually and paste the address in. Any ideas as
to the cause of the variations?

I had planned on trying to write a vba procedure for this, but since it
seemed to be built in, I haven't bothered. But the built-in doesn't seem to
work reliably.

Any ideas on where I could go for help on this?

Charles / News Group,

Each time MapPoint starts, a series of registration entries are
simultaneously added and removed. I have 3 versions of MapPoint
and 2 versions of Streets & Trips.

When I click the pushpin button that you're referring to, MapPoint
Europe 2004 opens and I receive an error stating that the address
could not be found.

Presumably, this is because I am in Rochester, NY and searching for
an address in Chicago, IL.

It may be that one can write a procedure attached to a custom menu
item that will insert the desired address details into a hyperlink or
shell command line to open the correct version and do the search.

Hope that gives someone out there an idea ...

Thank you for the idea. I'm a neophyte at programming Outlook and MapPoint
doesn't seem to be a vba accessible program.
