Many Crashes (Netman, IMAPI)

Windows XP SP1

ATI AIW 9700 pro

My PC has been crashing in all games. It seemed to
happen out of the blue on a PC that had otherwise worked
very well. The crashing occures about five minutes into
the game and can be a CTDD, a BSOD, or just a quick
reboot. Event Viewer shows that Netman and IMAPI both
try to launch at the time of the crashes but not all is
well.

"DCOM got error "The service database is locked. "
attempting to start the service ImapiService with
arguments "-Service" in order to run the server:"

The same goes for Netman. ccPwdSvc would show the same
error as well but has since been uninstalled.

I've also noted 2 hours in the logged spammed with this
error:

"Product: Windows Operating System
ID: 7023
Source: Service Control Manager
Version: 5.0
Component: System Event Log
Symbolic Name: EVENT_SERVICE_EXIT_FAILED
Message: The %1 service terminated with the following
error: %2"

if anyone could offer assistence it would be great as
this is driving me nuts. :)

Something else, after the problems first appear, I
reinstalled windows which made the problem go away. I
then decided to just get a fresh start by dulling a full
format and reinstall. The problems then returned. The
first reinstall I mentioned included no patching or
updating and I installed almost no software. My only
guess is that some windows update or third party software
is causing the trouble but I cannot begin to figure out
which one.

While I do not see "Netman" in services, I did
disable "IMAPI" which did not stop the crashes but also
stopped any errors from being reported in the log.

Many thanks again! :)
