Managing identities in XP

P

Peter Jordan

Hello:

When I configured a new laptop for my wife, I thought it
would be a good idea to have two identities -- let's call
them Husband and Wife.

Then I backed up all of her Outlook Express messages and
addresses onto the laptop and put them under the Husband
identity. I also installed my Office programs under than
identity and created icons for them.

We started used the laptop unconsciously under the Husband
identity. But she (naturally) logged on one day under
Wife. All of her old OE messages had disappeared, and
none of the icons for Word, Excel, etc., were on the
desktop! I was out of town at the time and couldn't
figure out over the phone what had happened. For two
weeks, she used OE under the Wife identity, so some of the
OE messages are under Wife, and some are under the Husband
identity.

Anyway, here's what I would like to do:

1. Consolidate the Wife OE messages into the Husband OE
identity. (When I go to OE, file, import messages, import
from Microsoft OE 6, all it shows me is "Main Identity" as
a choice.

2. Delete the Wife identity.

3. Rename the Husband identity as the Wife identity. (Or
get rid of the confusion of identities altogether).

Can anyone give me a step-by-step on how to do this?

Thanks,

Peter Jordan
