Making a folder private

Andrew Laycock

Hi.

If I moved my My Documents folder to say D:\My Documents\ from its usual
C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents, would I still be able
to "Make this folder private" - i'd like all my documents on a different
partition so I can use Norton Ghost to easily revert Windows to a nice tidy
fresh installation - but I want to leave My Documents untouched....?

hi

By default, a user can change the location of the My Documents folder by
typing a new path in the Target box of the My Documents Properties dialog
box.

so you move the content then specify the path and is ok..

hope it works.... if not then the folder will be a normal folder for
everyone.

Hi Andrew,

In short, the answer is yes, you can still make it private.

Andrew,

AFAIK, you must set D: drive file system as NTFS. 'Make Private'
checkbox would be disabled if the drive is not NTFS.
