Making a copy of IE 6 history files

Hey all,

I'm trying to make a copy of my IE 6 history files before they get
dumped. I had someone use my home computer who shouldn't have been and
I'd like to document the places this person visited as well as be able
to back it up with a file just so there's no denying it. How can I back
up IE history. Simply copying the folder doesn't work. Anyone know?

Hi Groundhog :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

Backup IE History

Free Program:
http://www.backsettings.com/internet-explorer-backup.html

also..

If you want to save IE History as text file, you will need to use a 3rd
party software to do this. Check the information here:

History Reader for Internet Explorer:
http://www.wbaudisch.de/HistoryReader.htm

IEHistoryView
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.html

Neither program will save or record the History real-time, manual
intervention through their
GUI is required. However, IEHistoryView has command line options you can
use to, say, put in a batch file and run that in a schedule.

If what you are looking for is some sort of monitoring program that
works in the background and logs all IE activity, take a look at the
following:
http://www.solidlabs.com/net/netlogger/
http://www.softactivity.com/spy-software.asp or
http://www.guardiansoftware.com/monitor.html
http://www.smelis.com/products/svsh/index.html
http://www.tucows.com/preview/332510.html

Hope this helps.
