mailmerge problems

I recently changed computer and installed my old office 2000 on to the new
machine. Now I'm encountering problems with mailmerges. For some reason, if
I'm online while trying to mailmerge a document from data on my access
database my computer locks up. I then have to re-boot the computer and ensure
I'm not online to get the mailmerge to work. Basically I can run mailmerges
as long as I'm not connected to the internet but if i am connected it wont
work. It's driving me mad and doesn't seem to make any sense - why would my
internet connection have any bearing on mailmerges between Word and Access?

Very strange....

About the only thing I can think of that would be an issue here is that when
you connect to your network, there is some printer on the network that
becomes available and that allows either ms-access reports,or the word
document to function correctly....


Access needs at least one printer installed to run reports.....
