Mailbox Limit Exceeded When In Cached Mode

R

Robert Kinnell

I have a user who gets the message "You have exceeded the
size limit on yourt mailbox", and they cannot send or
receive messages after that point. They only get this
message when in Cached Mode.

So, of course, this is preventing us from using cached
Mode. There are no mailbox limits set at all on the
Exchange Server. So, they should not be getting this
message. And again, it's only in Cached Mode that they get
this message.

Any ideas as to where I might look for resolution on this?

Thanks.

Cached mode uses an OST file, which is subject to the same limitations as a
PST file is. Depending on what sort of OST file and what version of Exchange
you are using the user might have hit the approximately 2 GB size limit for
a non-Unicode OST file.

Take a look at the size of the OST file. If the limit is being reached then
have the user delete or archive some of the mailbox contents.
