Mail Stuck

Hi:

I have Outlook 2003 and a dial up connection....
When I go to send/receive, it says that it is sending message 1 of 2. There
is only 1 message in the outbox, so I gather that the second one is an
autoresponse. The problem is that it always stays stuck on 1 of 2.
I think that the transmission of the message might have been interrupted and
so now Outlook is stuck trying to send a message that is not there.

The send/receive error is:
Task 'mail.nucleus.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The
connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact
your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

My line does not drop, I think it just times out.

Is there some way to purge the outbox in Outlook? I can receive mail, just
sending is the issue.

Thanks

Do you have any anti-virus software scanning incoming and outgoing
messages? If so, turn off that scan. Some such programs really only stop
scanning if you uninstall them and reinstall without selecting that scan.
