Mail Store from Outlook Express

Dear All,

I'm currently dual booting until I get used to Vista, and would to use my
Outlook Express mail store, but I'm worried it would muck it all up? I have
my OE Mail Store on a seperate HDD so if re-installs happen, I don't lose
all my Emails, etc...

Is it possible to point my WIndows Mail to the OE store and use it? or will
I cause problems on either of them?

Hope this makes sense....

Regards
Paul.

Its possible to point Windows Mail to the OE store and IMPORT it, WM cannot
use OE's .DBX files for anything but an import source.

Ok,

thanks for the info, looks like I'll be using OE on my XP machine until I
move all the way over to Vista, then Import it

You could always import and start using Windows Mail. WM stores email in
native .EML format, the same format OE uses. Any WM received email messages
can be dragged and dropped into OE folders. The difference between the two
is that WM stores discrete email messages (in .EML format) in ordinary file
folders, while OE stores them (also in .EML format) in .DBX database files.
