Hello,
I got a new laptop yesterday with the Vista OS. I was disappointed to find
that Outlook Express was gone. While not a supported configuration, I had
used Regedit to point the Outlook Express 'store root' on multiple machines
to a mapped network drive. This way all the machines would be looking at the
same set of folders and downloaded e-mails. Also, when messages downloaded
they got stored on the central drive and not to the PC I happened to be using.
Now, with Windows Mail the storage configuration is totally different.
There is still a Store Root but I can't map it to the XP machine's Outlook
Express folders. If I were to upgrade the XP machine to Windows Live Mail,
could I map the Vista machine's Windows Mail to that Store Root? Anyone try
this?
Thanks,
Jim
