Mail keeps asking me if I want to delete---help!

From out of nowhere I'm being asked if I want to delete an email whenever I
want to erase one. How do I get Vista to stop asking me this and just delete
the email?

You can't.

It is a built in safe guard, against inadvertent delete/erase clicks.
