mail and .dat files

There has been a couple of times in the past months where
a user or two has sent out an attachment to people
outside the company (such as a pdf file) and some people
received it as a .dat file instead of the original file.
were are using pop3/smtp type internet mail through
outlook 2000. I had this person send it to me and didn't
have a prob. Anyone have sny ideas why this would happen?

Try sending msgs as plain text.

I spotted your question - I'm a sender -having similar
problems (outlook 2000 Windows 98) -some recipients are
getting my jpg's fine, some aren't at all, and some change
to text files, (one email to severals recipients). Please
forward me what the fix is if you get one. I developed a
new yahoo account and the jpg go to everyone just fine
with no problems.Wierd,uh
