macros not firing: XL '97 vs XL 2000 vs XL 2002

Hi all

I have created a number of workbooks with macros that have no problem
running in both XL 97 where they were created and on a colleagues
machine running XL 2002

However in operating the files on XL 2000 a number of them would not
fire the macros

Is there any major differences between the different visions of XL and
how they operate macros if created on the different versions - is there
a way of getting around these differences if they exist

...Is it inherently problematic to operate macros between the different
versions of XL

any advice appreciated or if you could either direct me to a resource
or essay on this issue it would be most appreciated

Hi Matt

No, all 97 macros should run without problems in all later versions. Some
new things are added to the macro language for each version, but nothing is
changed or removed.

My only guess: Make sure that the macro secutity isn't set to High in the
2000 version (Tools > Macro menu).
