lsass.exe and error booting

H

Hal

I receive the message in a dialog box for
lsass.exe: "object name not found".

I tried reinstalling lsass.exe and msvcrt.dll from the
recovery console and this does not resolve the problem.

The machine reboots after receiving this error.

The only thing I did since the last successful boot was to
install MS Access 2000. Since that time, I cannot boot the
PC.

If you are able to do a System Restore, try that first, as it is simple and
reversible.
Otherwise, you might want to try Malke's recommendation from an earlier
post:

"There is a lot of information about this error on line - do a Google
search using the terms "lsass error". Unfortunately, the only thing
that ever worked for me was a complete reinstallation of the operating
system. You could start with a repair install, however."
