lost links

I've, for some reason, lost the ability to use 'clickable' links in my
emails. Each one I click on, is 'actuated' but there is no response from my
browser. I'm not sure how I lost this ability, but, it just recently happened
and is very annoying to have to copy the shortcut and paste into IE.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how to fix? I'm sure
something has happened in the Registry, but, no clue where to start.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run
2. Type the following commands in the Run dialog box, and click OK (or hit
ENTER) after each command (noting the space between the 2 and the next letter):
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 msjava.dll (NB Java may not be installed on your computer and you may
receive an error)

My links are still not opening up. Although now, I do get a security warning
stating that 'the current web page is trying to open a site in your trusted
sites list. Do you want to allow this action?'
So it would seem that we've made some progress.
Any other thoughts???
Thanks
