Lost Internet Connectivity

I'm the unofficial go-to guy for computer problems at work, and I hav
a problem that I think is beyond me

This morning, my boss turned on his computer, and had no internet.
Nothing had been touched since he last used the computer, whe
everything worked fine. No one had even been in his office, excep
when an employee came in to clean. However, the network worked -- h
could send/receive files with other computers on the network -- bu
neither Intenet Explorer nor AOL could connect to the internet. A
first, this was the only apparent error, but after I starte
switching NICs, I got something else. The Local Area Connectio
became labeled "limited or no connectivity" and when
clicked "repair" under the support tab of the Local Are
Connection Status window, it failed because the IP address could no
be renewed. As you can see below, I tried a lot of things, an
nothing has worked. I've ran out of ideas. Please, an
suggestions??

An IP address of 169.x.x.x means it can't get a real IP address for some
reason. Do an IP config on a machine that can connect and take a look at
the IP address and gateway. I'd put a static address onto this computer
in the same subnet range and use the same default gateway and DNS
settings the others have and see if it works then. If it does then it
could be just a case of rebooting the router, sometimes these get in a
mess and stop giving out IP addresses to clients.

Thanks for the tip

Update: This morning, no computer could access the internet o
network. One of the employees called the company/guy who set up th
network, and apparently there's another router somewhere (good t
know!!!). They reset the router and all the computers worked fine.
We still have yet to see if the problem computer is working, bu
things are looking good
