Lost folders view

Running Windows XP Pro with sp2 and all the updates except IE 7.

I have some shortcuts to folders on my desktop and as of today when clicked
on instead of the folder opening, I get the "Search results" window. If I
click on the shortcuts to my hard drives all is ok. I tried recreating the
folder shortcuts but that didn't fix.

The problem was discovered soon after I did the Microsoft patch "Print
Directory listing".

How do I get folders windows back?
