lost files when using XP bulit-in CD burner

When I tried to move some files in several folders to CD using XP's built-in
cd burning function, it stopped at one folder, saying somthing like "there is
a problem copying this foler". Three buttons on the warning box: "Retry",
"Skip", "Cancel". After I chose "Skip", it continued finishing. All the
folders except that specific one were copied correctly (I didn't actually
write to a real CD yet. They are still in the temperaory location.) - But Oh
My! That specific folder's contents are gone! Both the original location and
the copied temporary location are empty.

Please help!! Is there anyway I could recover those files? Thanks a lot!

3rd party undelete software may recover it if you haven't played with
the computer much. See www.google.com for prospective software. BTW
NEVER use MOVE, copy and then delete when the CD is complete.

Thank you very much for the response. I tried a file recovery software and
got some partial files back.

(1) Is there any more sophisticated way to recover those files if I did play
with computer a lot?
(2) Since all I did was a totally routine operation, does XP provide any
easier or at least safer way to rescue? I guess there must be some XP experts
there knowing more tricks, or at least knowing what has been happening.

Thanks again!
