CD Writing Wizard lost my files

Recently tried backing up all my photos onto a cd-r. I selected the folder in
My Computer and chose "move folder." A balloon popped up to say I had files
ready to write to cd. So I followed the "CD writing Wizard" but the burning
only took a few seconds and left an empty folder on my cd.
Now all my photos are gone from my hard-drive and I've nothing on my cd to
show for it. Can you suggest where I could look for maybe a temporary copy of
the files that must have been made by the "Wizard" before it wrote them to cd?
Thanks for any help.

Stop using the computer now, until you try some data recovery solutions.
Here are some programs to help recover the files. And next time don't
"Move" a folder. Copy it. When the copy is complete and ok, then
delete the source folder.
