Lost admin password - Win2K

I was trying to network a Win2K pc that had previously been setup as single user (so I never used a user name or password to boot up). Now I'm being asked for User and Password to login and I can't remember if I ever assigned any passwords when I installed it

Is there any way (other than re-installing win2k) to get around the Admin/Password prompt?

I know, this must qualify as the dumbest question ever asked... but hope someone can help - Thanks!

Sorry - I'm also learning how to use the search feature on this community. I'll use some of the previous suggestions first

Thanks!

I know have a Linux based solution on a boot floppy but it was given to
me by a co-worker but I don't know where he got it from. I'll ask him
tomorrow.

And no, it is not a dumb question at all.

Here you go. This will allow you to reset the Administrator password:

http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd

Works for NT4, Win2K and WinXP. The only difference is in the case of
WinXP you have to change the default system path from \WINNT to \Windows
otherwise go with defaults.

Good luck!
