There used to be "tools" or something to allow/dis-allow files
visibility.
I have lost it somewhere. Any & all help gratefully received. TIA
eg: In "My Documents" page I could click on Tools & in the drop-down I
could click another item to go to "view" and a tab to go further to
show/hide highlighted files. After a clean format/re-install of ALL,
this is no longer available. TIA for any help.

Have you tried right-clicking the file(s)>Properties>Check "Hidden"?

Sorry, just re-read your post.

In "My Documents">Tools>Folder Options>View (Tab)>Hidden Files and
Folders>Select "Show".

That's my problem, Smirnoff. I have no "folder options" in the "tools"
drop-down. :-(
I also have no "Folder Options" in Control Panel. Thanks for a prompt
reply.

Thanks once again, Smirnoff. I have just format-ed my hard drive to
get rid on the bug. My "options" etc has returned also. <smiling now>
Your link was a winner. :)

You're welcome. Thanks for the feedback.
