Loss of Outlook 2003 functionality after switching from a limited

I have Outlook 2003. It generally performs as expected however if I 'switch
user' to my daughter's account (hers is 'limited', mine 'Administrator'), I
get messages stating that none of the individual programs within Outlook are
able to give me any information. The only option is to logoff and logon again
which solves the problem. It does defeat the object of leaving my profile how
I wanted it though!!

Very frustrating problem. PC is Dell Dimension 5000, P4 3.0Ghz, 1gb ram, MS
Office Standard loaded.

Does the limited account have its own mail profile? If not, that could be
the problem because the limited account has no access to the Administrator
account's files.

I'm not aware of any different mail profiles. Have since found out that it
happens to other Administrator accounts also.

The full error message I get when returning to my profile after switching
is: 'Unable to display the folder. Another application closed unexpectedly
while using your Personal Folders file 'C:\Documents and Settings\(me)\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst'. To prevent
potential damage to your Personal Folders file, it will not be available
until you close all applications currently using it.

Just closing and re-opening Outlook does not resolve the problem, it has to
be a full logoff and logon.

The error message is the same across all Outlook folders.

I'm not aware that other users even open their Outlook, it is as if there is
some kind of sharing of my folders going on for all other users on the
computer.

I have looked at basic settings but can't see anything obvious.

You have another application running that is preventing Outlook from closing
properly. See if anything here helps:
