losing network connection

i have a w2k network sp3...it seems that the workstations
are losing their network connection...i have mapped
drives that you have to click on 3 or 4 times before it
will let you in....have users that are working with files
off the share drives and will lose network connection
right in the middle of working on it....it just started
doing this after we installed a new timeclock software on
our server...have any answers for me????? all my clients
have w2kpro sp3

Questions like this kill me, almost all the time a simple
reboot will solve the problem. Things you can try

1. try to uninstall that clock software and see if things
work. ( i dont think thats it but try it anyway)

2. Try to sure the ping command when you think that the
network go's down

3. Test the networks card and cables - make sure the
cables a plugged in and working conditions. make sure you
have the right and up to date drivers for your NIC

4. Goto Start - Run - and enter \\computername
this is a fast way of connecting to a networks.

5. make sure your Hub or if router is good

6. And finally "event management" at event view will give
you a little discription of whats wrong

IF ALL ELSE FAILS REBOOT
