Losing connection with server

I have a network with sbs2000 installed and window98
clients (8x). Some clients looses connection with the
server (sometimes 2x a day).
By cklicking the mapped drive on the server I got the
message: acces denied.
To solve the problem i have to restart the client what is
irritation.

Got WINS installed on your SBS? Also options 044 and 046 (0x8) in
DHCP-server, Scope options? How many nics in the server? Does the winipcfg
on the W98 show that everything is pointing to the server-IP?

assuming this is not audodisconnection issue, check the hardwar
settings such as switch/hub/nic.
