looking for a good multi-server newsreader

I'm looking for a multi server newsreader that really integrates the
servers. Currently using BNR2, and quite like it in ever aspect except
the fact that the database gets corrupted at least once a week (and
that's with being careful about how I use the prog), and requires
deleting and re-downloading all headers, and you lose everything
that's marked as read and marked as downloaded. Tried Hamster and
newsplex, about a year and a half ago, and found both too confusing or
troublesome to use. If new versions are a LOT better, would be willing
to try, but, again, don't want to download and install and spend time
playing with various progs only to find they don't do what I want or
are too confusing to configure. What I want is a reader that
can handle both text and binaries
can have more than one server with more than one connection per server
connects to more than one server at a time, not requires you to
disconnect from one to connect to another
shows groups that are available on multiple servers as one group,
rather than a separate copy of the group for each server
supports meta-groups, where you have a number of newsgroups grouped
together, and can work with the meta group as tho it were one group
(opening all as one, refreshing all as one, etc)
Like I said, essentially, BNR2, just, with text (and posting would be
nice, but isn't essential) support and a database that doesn't get
corrupted once every week or two.

If you do not find a suitable one, you can use any favourite newsreader
with local usenet proxy NewsPlex. I use it with SuperGravity
almost 2 years.

It collects headers from all servers into only one local database.
Your reader need to know only one server - 127.0.0.1:119

It is command line background app for Windowses and Linux too.

Its configuration can be easy or sofisticated, according to your wish.

That's too bad. I use that program too, but don't access mulitiple
servers. I tried once, and had the problem that you mention, so I went
back to my ISP's newsfeed.

I would not recommend 40tude Dialog because here's a little love
nugget from the readme file in the download:

"This version expires on April 30, 2004.

WARNING: This is beta software. Though there
already was a extensive closed alpha
and beta phase you must be prepared
to lose all you articles, emails and
settings due to a yet undiscovered
bug."

I don't know what happens when the version "expires", but am unwilling
to take a chance.

You might try Grabit instead:
