Long distance faxing & Dialing Rules

Can anyone tell me how to make the built-in FAX driver
automatically dial a 1 for all area codes not explicitly
listed in the dialing rules? This seems like something
that should be obvious, but I can'tfigure out how to get
it to dial a 1 unless I actually put a 1 prefix in the
Contact number in Outlook. (Oh yes, I'm using Outlook
2000 with Windows XP Home.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks, but I had already found that article, and it
doesn't apply to my situation.

Actually, I discovered after I posted my question that, if
I tell FAX not to use the Dialing Rules, then it
automatically dials a "1" in front of the target number.
Strange, but as long as I know how to get it to do what I
want...

Thanks again for your response.

Take a look at this MS KB article, it may help:
