Faxing to another area code in local dialing region

Chuck

I live in a metro area (Minneapolis/St. Paul) that has a large local
dialing region in which there are 4 area codes. To reach a number in my
own area I just dial the 7 digits. To dial into any of the other three
areas I must dial 10 digits, WITHOUT ANY PREFIX. I have so far been
unable to figure out how to get MS Fax to dial a number out of my area
without inserting a "1" ahead of the 10 digit area code and number. Is
the assumption that all calls outside of my area code are long distance
hard coded into the fax software? If not, how can I surpress the
dialing of the "1" prefix? Thanks.

The simplest way would be to create a dialing rule/calling card rule. The
calling card particularly gives you a lot of flexibility on the pattern of
digits to be dialled.
