Logon Scripts not running through VPN

B

Bruce Diamond

Hello all!

I have several users who use their laptops both at their
desks (inside the network) and off-site (outside the
network). Of course, I have a VPN set up for these users,
and they can log in and use resources, no problem.

The strange thing is, when these users log in remotely via
the VPN, their logon scripts don't run. The logon scripts
run just fine when they log on from their desks

Huh? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Bruce,

How are your users connecting? If they are logging in over the dial-up
connection, then the login scripts will work. But otherwise, connecting
through VPN is not the same as logging into the domain. The user credentials
are used only for authentication. You will need to go for Connection Manager
Authoring Kit (CMAK) to provide some scripts to be run after a VPN
connection is established.
