Logon Failure: The Target Account Name Is Incorrect

Getting this error message when looking at a computer
across the network in my network places. All other
computers are connecting okay and the other computer can
look bacvk at this one and look at the shares no problem?
Any ideas win 2000 sp4

I have run into this one too.

I have had trouble with the logon names mary and eddie.

Conspiracy Theory: I think the programmer of this area is playing a joke.

I have set up a separate domain and network not connected with a freshly
install server and tried using these two names, and i get the same results,
half the time these names work, half the time they don't.

I ended up having to create a new account with a variation on the these two
names.

Check the ipconfig/all. Does everything point to your server-IP? Is the
computer joined to the domain? Are you using a valid username?

Hey guys Im also getting this error as well and it is not
on all workstations the wierd thing about it is that I can
connect using the IP address but not the workstation name?
is that the case for you Matt?
