logins for 2000

A friend has asked me to help her setup a login for windows 2000. Is there
anything tricky about it. I'm running WXP and never really used 2000 except
for at work, so I don't have it in front of me to test.

I would assume I can to go control panel and access users and passwords and
setup a username and password.

This friend is going to have someone live in the same house for a while and
wants to make sure the pc cannot be accessed.

Thanks.

It's pretty well the same as Windows XP, any differences are only minor.
Check the Windows 2000 help files if you need help. Search for user
or users .

After you create the new user and log on to the account the desktop
screen may be blank. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for Windows to do
her things, let it sit for a bit. If the desktop doesn't appear log off
or reboot and logon again.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
Unfortunately I no longer have any accesses to a pc with 2000, so it'll be
trial by fire, when I arrive at her pc.
Appreciate your help.
