login screen

i installed all of the current updates for xp home
operating system and now i get a login screen everytime i
boot up the computer, before i went right to the desktop.
how can i get rid of that login screen at bootup. it came
up before when i let it idle for a while but not at bootup.

Start, run, type in: control userpasswords2, hit enter.

Uncheck: users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

Xp will then ask you to enter the user and password you want to auto-logon
to.
Or
Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto-logon feature.
