hello
The problem may be an incorrect system drive letter. This has happened to me
with restoring a Ghost image. And this is how I fix it.
Open the registry on the system that is causing you trouble via a *networked
machine*, navigate to:
HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices
and delete all values that look like this:
\DosDevices\C
I switched disks on a PC so I copyed an XP pro-sp2 with ghost from one disk
to the next (a process I've done several times before).
at startup the OS asks for username+password and while loading user setting
it drops right back and logs off, it never loads all the way.
I cannot access anything, it's the same in safe mode. this happened to me
once with win2K and I had to reinstall from scratch.
is there anything I can do about this?
thanx in advance.
