LOG OUT PROBLEMS

mike

i have tried >Start >> Run >> sfc /scannow
and this didnt solve the problem. every time i try to log
out of my user area a message appears: end program-
setupdll32.exe and it asks you to please wait. After a
while it says program is not responding and whether to
end task or cancel to check whether it is working or not.
This is very annoying and i would like it if somebody
could tell me how to fix it.

Thanks,

Mike,
I have encountered the same problem and it is very annoying. Have
you found a fix?

A quick Google for "setupdll32.exe" doesn't bring up any links, which is
suspicious. What does a scan with a current antivirus program (meaning
a version not earlier than 2002 and using updated virus definitions)
show?

Also, remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org and Ad-aware from www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure
to update these programs before running them. These programs are free,
so run them both since they complement each other. It is best to run
antivirus and spyware removal tools in Safe Mode. You may also need to
run CWShredder from http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/index.html .
Please read the instructions carefully. A great resource for dealing
with spyware is http://www.spywareinfo.com. Also, make sure you've
visited Windows Update and applied all security patches. Make sure you
are running a firewall.
