log on problem

Hi,
I am using the windows xp professional with sp 2 in my network. I am not
being able to log on into with all of the network password as well as local
password. When I enter the password the error is displayed that reads as
following:

"The system can not log you on due to the following error: The parameter is
incorrect. "

I can not log on though I tried with administrator user with correct
password. I tried to log on through safe mode also but couldn't succeed and
got the same error. What could be the reason. Pls help.

Thanks.

I got the same problem when I updated my windows. Here's what i did to solve
it. Restart, press F8, select Last Known Good Configuration. Then I was able
to log in, but the updates were gone. So i went to my profiles, removed the
password and updated again. After the prompt to restart, i am able to get to
my desktop coz there was no password. Then i simply put back the password.
Problem solved. Hope this works for you too!

I'm having the same problem after i uninstalled some updates, but using
the Last Known Good Configuration is not working for me. I still get
the same error message? Does anyone have any other ideas?
