Hello. Well, I don't know exactly what the problem is. That's why I'm hoping
that I can get some help as this is incredibly annoying and it only started
today and my computer was perfectly fine yesterday!
I am the only person who uses this computer and so the computer only has one
user, hence my account being the administrative account. What started this
morning is that when I clicked on my user name to get into my account, I
received the following error messages:

1. Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this
error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If
this problem persists, contact your network administrator.
2.Windows canno find the local profile and is logging you on with a
temporary profile. Changes you make to this profile will be lost when you log
off.

So, what basically happens is every time I log on to this account, it's
almost as if Windows XP had just been installed; everything is reset. I still
have my programs and files.. but they're all "hidden" and harder to find.
Anything I save or change goes away the next time I log on.

I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!

I wouldn't click on a TinyURL link, what a security threat. Who knows
what website this idiot Evolution wants to bring you to. What a fool.
Maybe Evolution should go back to slinging burgers where you are
probably most needed.

Hi Gen,

You can also try opening c:\documents and settings and rightclicking on
your username then selecting properties. Then select the security tab
and make sure that you have full control of this and make sure it has
replicated to all files and folders below this. The reason all your
shortcuts etc have gone is that if windows is unable to find or open
your profile it will create you a temporary one based on the default.

Regards
