I've struggled with IE restrictions as well. Haven't had the need to use
GP options.
I'm not sure if this addresses your concerns, but there are a number of
registry entries to lock aspects of IE. A complete listing can be found

Also, I've recently had to configure several secured IE kiosks. A great
low-cost product for this purpose is Internet Kiosk Pro. For more info,
