Lock Down Internet Access

Here is how things work for us. We use local group policy on every machine
to lock down the machine. I want to know through local group policy is their
a way to hide the address bar in IE. I was able to remove the toolbars,
disable the internet options menu, and disable the toolbars menu in the view
mwnu. I can't find anything to do to hide the address bar in Internet
Explorer. I want to hide this address bar using local gpo and export the
policy to copy it to every users computer i choose to use it on. Is this
possible.

what I've done before is use group policy to set a proxy server address that
doesn't work.. then they can't get out..
otherwise you can type a web address or click a link and still get to the
internet.. also this way users will be able to use IE for internal apps.

Its crazy. I can do everything from Group Policy such as set the home page
to our Intranet site which specifies the pages they are allowed to view. I
can disable Internet options and customizing the toolbars. But for some
reason at least in 2000 one can't remove the address bar unless its done
manually which is on a per user basis. Which isn't really efficent.
