Local users and groups cannot access computer

When I go into Computer management I have the red circle
with the X on local users and groups. If I click it I get
and error unspecified "local users and groups cannot
access computer". This happen no matter how I try to
manage users and groups.I have tried remote manage,
snapin with MMC. I can access users and password through
control panel however. The account I use is an admin
account. Latest service pack and patches. I hope someone
has had this and knows a solution other that a rebuild

You need to review the Event Logs.

Done that. No mention of any failure for a service or
unregistered dll.

Sounds to me like you are on a machine that is part of a
domain.

Once a server is promoted to domain controller, it no
longer has a need for local users and groups. It uses
Active directories, users and computers.

887438(http://tinyurl.com/au2bw) & I can verify that it will fix you
problem. I have the import.reg file, which you can just import onto an
