Windows XP local drives search engine ???

anybody know something that can help to index selected hard drives for affordable time and affordable summary index space that I could search over all selected drive by keyphrase etc.? I want something similar to search engine - only local version. desktop engine...

any suggestions?

don't suggest google desktop search - i tried and don't like it.

Google makes a local desktop search tool that is excellent. I use it at home and at th office: http://desktop.google.com/

i've seen almost every major search engine to offer similar solutions to google desktop for example Yahoo! desktop search, i think also MSN has something like this. you might want to try some of these. maybe X1 can be good for you?

i already used google desktop search, yahoo desktop search and msn desktop search too. no satisfaction :-(

too big index volume, small indexing speed (for me).

now i'm tesing X1 that BrianMi7 suggested...
