Loading Personal settings hangs

I have a very small AD Domain (W2K Standard SP4) and after adding
an extra server (not the AD Controller) the workstations
(XP Pro) seem to hang when logging on and "Loading
your personal settings" takes an age. Tried several KB articles
but none seem to apply i.e. offline mapped drives etc.

The system still works as it should but its just annoying.

Any pointers appreciated.

Are DNS working? Can it resolve the DC and the AD domain name?

Thanks Chris just checked event viewer DNS and

that seems to be the issue one line says:-
The DNS server has started.

The other says:-

The DNS server list of restricted interfaces contains IP addresses that are
not configured for use at the server computer.

Use the DNS manager server properties, interfaces dialog, to verify and
reset the IP addresses the DNS server should listen on. For more
information, see "To restrict a DNS server to listen only on selected
addresses" in the online Help
