Loading Microsoft office 2003 editions

I currently have MS Office 2003 Basic edition loaded I have bought the CD for
MS Office professional edition but when I tried to load it I had a lot of
problem getting it to start and when I did get it to start it stopped at the
point when it said "SKU111.CAB Aaiting for cabinets to be cached to local
instillation source". I had to cancel after a message said it couldn't find
the file. When I looked in the Help & Support Center for error messages
there were lots of messages saying "the device device\cdrom0\has a bad block".
It this an issue with my PC or the CD ?

Could be a bad hard drive - when was the last time you performed a CHKDSK
followed by a DEFRAG?

The CD is defective. Take it back for a refund/return.
